# Framing Cursor: Analogies

### The Grocery Store Analogy

Imagine walking into a massive grocery store the size of a football field. You’re looking for a carton of oat milk—but instead of aisles, every product is just randomly scattered across the store. You’d have to walk row by row, shelf by shelf, just to find what you need.

Now imagine that same store is organized into clearly labeled sections: dairy, produce, snacks, beverages. You know oat milk is in the dairy section, so you go straight there. Even better, there’s a digital assistant at the front that gives you a map and points you to exactly the right shelf.

**That’s what Framing Cursors do for the blockchain.**

Instead of making nodes scan the entire “store” to find a piece of data, Framing Cursors let them jump directly to the right section—making the whole process faster, easier, and far more efficient.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.xyo.network/xyo-layer-one/xyo-layer-one-features/framing-cursor/framing-cursor-analogies.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
